The Food Project. Principal Investigator (1999-2000). A comprehensive evaluation of an innovative youth and
sustainable agriculture project funded by the Kellogg Foundation. The
objective of the evaluation is to determine the degree to which the project is
effective in meeting its stated goals and to determine the elements of the
project that contribute to its success and/or shortcomings.

- 1999). An evaluation of a national aids
education and prevention site funded by the U. S. Department of
Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration,
Special Projects of National Significance Program. Both qualitative and
quantitative evaluation research methodologies are used in the outcome
evaluation of the Boston site. The focus of the
evaluation is on the effectiveness of culturally-oriented education and
counseling in changing health attitudes and behaviors and in preventing the
spread of AIDS in the targeted community.
Massachusetts Cultural Council, Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Principal Investigator
(1998-2000). A
process evaluation of the YouthReach Program grantee collaborations to
determine how they are formed and maintained overtime. Information from
this multi-site, statewide evaluation will be used to provide technical
assistance to grantees to increase the benefits of collaboration.
Management Consulting Services, Common Ground Nonprofit Management Capacity Building Project. Co-Principal Investigator (1997-98). An outcome evaluation of
the project using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
The evaluation focused on the effectiveness of Common Ground
as a training model for management capacity building. The evaluation
findings will be used to develop a long-term
training agenda for community-based nonprofit organizations.
Massachusetts Cultural Council, Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Principal
Investigator (1997). A multi-site impact evaluation of youth projects throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts using both quantitative and
qualitative research methodologies. The purpose of the evaluation was to
determine if the projects funded under the Massachusetts Cultural Council
YouthReach Initiative are accomplishing the Initiative’s goals.

school voucher study to determine parent attitudes, perceptions and values that
influenced the decision to enroll their children in the voucher program or to
continue sending them to attendance zone schools.
City of Dallas. Research Consultant. (1993).
Subcontractor to evaluation of fair housing initiatives in Dallas, Texas. The work scope included
conducting focus group and key informant
interviews with five stakeholder groups in housing: (1) housing clients, (2)
real estate and financial institutions, (3) nonprofit housing agencies, (4)
fair housing advocacy groups, and (5) housing policy decision makers.

Branch. Principal Investigator (1993). Demonstration project using a
grassroots community development model for training volunteer community
outreach workers. The project objective was to train older volunteers as
community outreach health workers to assist frail elderly. The long-term
objective was to allow the frail elderly to maintain independent living in the
local community.
The
University of North Texas Sponsored Programs Principal Investigator (1991). An
evaluation of information and referral exchange and coordination among service
providers under contract with the Houston/Harris County Area Agency on Aging.

Republic. Participated in a
six- week field study of manpower training and economic development in the two
countries. The field study included lectures, site visits, and
data gathering from government agencies and universities.

development training demonstration project with twenty-five
(25) local junior and senior high school students.
