THEORY AND PRACTICE OF NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT (MGTCTR340) INDEPENDENT STUDY

To demonstrate this competency independently you must demonstrate knowledge of theories of management and how they are applied to nonprofit management situations. In addition you must present a strategic plan for an example agency or program and discuss how it advances a programs goals.

Your knowledge and ability to apply theories of management may be demonstrated in either of two ways. You may write a case analysis of a nonprofit agency in which you discuss the values and goals of the organization, its strategic plan (if any), and how it works with governmental and community organizations in carrying out its mission. Alternatively, you may do the five assignments listed in the syllabus of the Human Resource Management competency. You should discuss which method you have chosen for demonstrating this competency with Professor Holmes.
