Rules:
-Collaborations
between team members are encouraged; however one or two authors will be
responsible for one problem and may be asked to explain it.
-The
authors should present the solution on a blank sheet with their names on it.
Submissions from a same team should be stapled together
-Solutions
should include “self-explained” diagrams/sketches, with minimal wording. Neat
presentation will count toward the problem grading.
1.- Magnetic field: Describe in one paragraph what is fusion magnetic confinement, what is it for, what are the road blocks? What is the largest magnetic field (in Testa) currently available, how did they achieve that?
2.- Magnetic induction:
describe at least two applications of magnetic induction, one already in use
(not restricted to automotive industry), one that you propose could be use in
the future in the automotive industry
3.-
Magnetic force: describe in
technical details how magnetic levitation works. Give an estimate using the
equations given in class on how large a magnetic field and or current are
needed to levitate a train.
