Problem solving and idea generation. These designs should pass the “conceptual test”, i.e., after seeing the drawings, the reader can agree prototypes based on these designs will possibly work. A good design should be able to solve at least one anticipated problem.
1.- Develop
a method to save energy by reducing or eliminating traffic congestion, be
specific and include all details. A diagram is required.
2.- Global
economy is a fact, it is expected that the volume of freight to be moved from
countries to countries, continents to continents will increased drastically in
the near future. Design a method to get freights to their destinations more
quickly. This will also reduce environmental and other problems. Explain and
include a diagram.
3.- Measure
the dimensions of an ordinary cell phone with its main groups of keys. Prepare
a dimensioned sketch, complete with tolerance table.
4.- Estimate
the total mass of air that passes through your lungs each day

non-linear fit with a model different than the exp(-b1*x)/(b2+b3*x)
used in CW5 to achieve a smaller ‘standard’ deviation. Plot the data and best
fit on a same plot. Then copy the plot into a Word file. State clearly your
model and provide Excel values for all the coefficients and also the final
‘standard’ deviation.
