The following problems are for you to practice problem solving and idea generation. These designs should pass the “conceptual test”, i.e., after seeing the drawings, the reader can agree prototypes based on these designs will possibly work.
1.- Research and present two alternatives to power a car in the challenge of fuel shortage, use correct technological terms. Discuss pros and cons for each alternatives
2.- Provide two possible designs of a system that can measure the height of a building from the ground, based on different principles. Detailed drawings that illustrate the concepts are essential. Compare the two designs and justify which one is better, if applicable.
3.- Design a mechanical robot hand that can pick up and later release a soda can. The robot is operated via a wireless joystick. Detailed drawings that illustrate the concepts are working are essential.
