Overall Argument—Clarification

To clarify the Overall Argument of the project is to identify the steps or progression that leads your audience to the position you want them at least to appreciate, whether or not they agree with it. In other words, the Overall Argument is the S and P of GOSP. It serves as a skeleton that gives shape and structure to the body of your report. The use of the word “argument” does not mean there must be a dispute you are having with someone else.

Note: The Overall Argument is distinct from the various Component Propositions and premises that your project depends on.
