ART 339: COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Due Dates

This course requires a research paper (with two preparatory topic descriptions and bibliography), an oral report, a midterm, and a final exam.

Please make a note of the following deadlines:

First research topic proposal (1 page) (5% of grade): Sept. 28
Revised research topic proposal (2 pages) (15% of grade): Oct. 24
Midterm exam (20% of grade): Nov. 2
Research bibliography (10%): Nov. 28
Research paper (10-15 pages) (25% of grade): Dec. 14
Final exam (25% of grade): Date to be announced

You are required to use the MLA format in Refworks when preparing your papers.

Late Paper and Missed Exam Policy

You must tell the instructor if you are unable to complete an assignment on time. If you run into difficulties and cannot complete a paper on time, you should contact the instructor immediately, but in any case BEFORE the due date of the paper, to make arrangements for an extension. Extensions will be granted ONLY in urgent cases and in most cases will be graded down for lateness. Aside from papers for which an extension has been granted, LATE PAPERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Exams MUST be taken at the stated times. THERE ARE NO MAKEUP EXAMS.
