Gonzalo Bacigalupe, EdD (University of Massachusetts Amherst), MPH (Harvard University) is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Counseling and School Psychology, and Director of the Master of Science in Family Therapy at the Graduate College of Education, University of Massachusetts Boston; Adjunct Research Professor at the Family Medicine & Community Health, University of Massachusetts Medical School; Faculty Research Associate Mauricio Gaston Institute for Latino Community Development and Public Policy; Invited Professor Psychotherapeutic Interventions Master-Degree in Psychology, Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia (UNED), Madrid, Spain; Editorial Board Member Journal of Marital & Family Therapy, AFTA Monographs, Journal of Trauma Practice, Qualitative Research in Psychology, and Medical Science Monitor; former co-senior editor of the Journal of Systemic Therapies;Massachusetts Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor American Association of Marital and Family Therapy (AAMFT); AAMFT Online Accreditation Task Force Member; Board Member and Research Committee Chair of the American Family Therapy Academy (AFTA); Board Member and Education Director of the Healthy Villi Greater Boston Celiac/DH Support Group. Bacigalupe is director of the Online Family Therapy Program and is a 2007 faculty e-fellow developing tools for distance education and e-learning in family therapy education.

Gonzalo is the 2006 recipient of the Randy Gerson Memorial Grant for Couple, Family, & Multigenerational Processes awarded by the American Psychological Foundation for his research proposal "Gluten free diet adherence among families with a celiac disease child." In 2007, the Massachusetts Association of Marital and Family Therapy recognized Dr. Bacigalupe for his Exceptional Contribution to the Profession of Family Therapy Award. A Fulbright Senior Research Scholar in 2004 at the Family Therapy School, Hospital St Creu & St Pau, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, he studied the case of health care access for immigrants in Catalunya. With a team at the University of Massachusetts, he is developing a public health curriculum for undergraduates with funding from the Association of American Colleges and Universities. His research interests include: transnational families and couples, collaborative consultation and supervision, family health psychology, immigrants' health and health disparities (chronic pain, medication strategies and literacy, asthma), qualitative data analysis software, and focus groups. Presently his research and program consultation and evaluation focuses on ADHD, survivors of trafficking, cancer clinical trials education, celiac disease, and obesity.
